John is a seasoned business professional with over thirty (30) years of sales, marketing and financial leadership, development, and management experience.

 

The highlights of his career span several key multi-national and privately-held CPG, health science, professional services and specialty product/service organizations. John’s expertise includes both CPG branded and private label markets including such familiar brands as Weston, Maple Leaf, Canada Dry, Primo (Soups), Rubicon Exotic juices and GRACE (Caribbean Foods) and key private label brands (President’s Choice, Our Compliments, Parent’s Choice, Irrestibles and Selection) His recent contract consulting experience includes working with professional service organizations (Deloitte, Transition Path Inc.) and small specialty product/services organizations (Dockhinge, Riverdales Wines and A Perfect Tour).

 

John has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of strategic sales and business planning, sales team mentoring, training and recruitment. He has led several sales organizations, designing and driving approach-to-market sales initiatives as well executing marketing strategies and programs for both direct selling teams and external brokers. John has worked with senior leadership teams to build strategic business plans, negotiate new business distribution agreements, build new business strategies focused on launching and growing new and existing businesses.

 

In addition, John is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) and has extensive financial expertise in the areas of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and planning, pricing and trade management along with new business planning and investment proposals.

 

In his free time, John has been a competitive hockey coach for over 12 years, winning city championships, mentoring young men on key life skills (hard work, commitment, dedication, teamwork, and trust).  He also enjoys sports (all types), travel, cooking, wine and spending time with his family, his dogs and friends.
